Chuck McShane, Alicia Dimitrov-Lawrence and Paul Savoia didn’t have to travel far to enjoy the fruits of their association’s labours at the 2024 Chair’s Gala in September.
With OHBA’s Annual Conference and Awards being hosted at Fallsview Casino Resort, Niagara HBA’s CEO, executive officer and president were all a short drive from home when their group was announced as Chapter of the Year.
The award is presented annually to the local HBA that has made particularly significant contributions to the residential construction industry and raised awareness of the association within their community.
David Piccini, Ontario Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development, presented the honour, highlighting NHBA’s community commitment and progressive involvement in the Skills Development Fund. A partnership between the Niagara HBA, Niagara College and the Government of Ontario, the program provides much-needed skilled workers for the industry and training opportunities for individuals at no cost to the participant.
“This award is a testament to our continued commitment and growth as an association,” noted Savoia, whose local chapter turns 70 next year.
