About the President

JAMES BAZELY

 

 PRESIDENT, ONTARIO HOME BUILDERS’ ASSOCIATION

 

 

James Bazely is the President of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association, an organization comprised of 4,200 member companies with a network of 29 local associations that represent the interests of the residential construction industry in Ontario.

 

A member of OHBA’s Executive Committee, James served as the Association’s 1st   Vice-President prior to assuming his current position.  He has served OHBA in numerous capacities including Chairs of Builders’ Council, OHBA/Tarion Nominations Committee and OHBA’s Accessible Housing Council.  James was also appointed by the Provincial Ministry of Environment to the Lake Simcoe Stakeholder Advisory Committee. 

 

He has also been very active in his local association, CHBA Simcoe County, having served as its President for two terms. During his tenure his local association built a new home in less than three days for a community charity and introduced a winter fishing tournament that attracts hundreds or participants and raises funds for Barrie-area organizations.

 

James is the owner and President of the award-winning Gregor Homes, a Barrie-based company involved in custom and semi-custom home building, landscaping and renovation projects. He studied horticulture and landscaping at the University of Guelph and owned a landscaping company prior to joining Gregor Homes in 2003.

 

Born and raised in Sault Saint Marie with eleven brothers and sisters, he now lives in Barrie with his wife Gail and their three children, David, Melissa and Kathleen.
